Shell on show at ‘Britain in Kuwait’

Shell joined a number of leading British businesses in Kuwait in participating in the seventh ‘Britain in Kuwait’ exhibition in Kuwait City in April. The event was held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Mohammed Al Ahmed Al Sabah, Prime Minister, and British Ambassador, Stuart Laing. Shell on show at ‘Britain in Kuwait’

“Shell is very proud to be part of the ‘Britain in Kuwait’ event. It is an opportunity for our company to exhibit its expertise and history as a trusted British business partner in Kuwait,” said Ahmed Mouti, Chairman of Shell Companies in Kuwait. “Shell has a long and distinguished track record of applying advanced technologies to support Kuwait in meeting its energy demands and challenges.”

Initiatives from Shell in Kuwait include the provision of technical support in Kuwait’s refineries to help improve reliability and energy efficiency and using the latest Shell sulphur management technologies to help protect the environment. In order to share best practices, international Shell experts and representatives for the Kuwaiti oil and gas industry exchange visits and organise joint workshops and seminars on oil shipping safety standards and the latest oil and gas technologies and applications.

On a community level, Shell has an agreement with Kuwait University to sponsor some of its activities and offers students training and internship opportunities in Shell operations. The company is also planning future community initiatives, such as a road safety awareness campaign.

“We look forward to closer co-operation with our Kuwaiti partners to support the country in achieving its production targets and its 2020 strategic objectives through knowledge and technology sharing,” Ahmed Mouti concludes.
