Discussing opportunities for gasMohamed Ghannouchi, Tunisia’s Prime Minister, received Linda Cook, Executive Director for Shell Gas & Power, on a recent visit to the country. The visit followed the signing in May 2007 of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Tunisian Government, ETAP (Entreprise Tunisienne d’Activités Pétrolières) and Shell Gas & Power, which outlined areas of potential co-operation in developingopportunities in Tunisia’s gas business.

Shell has been in Tunisia since 1922 and its Downstream business includes a retail and LPG network, the marketing and production of lubricants and bitumen.

Shell has also joined an exploration joint venture operated by Anadarco offshore north Tunisia, and was awarded a prospecting license of 5,000 square kilometers in the onshore Metouia block.
