Shell hosted an initiative entitled the Think Science Corner at ADIPEC 2014 in a bid to encourage students to engage in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) subjects

Shell partnered with the Emirates Foundation, aiming to promote STEM fields of study. Students from UAE schools were brought in and invited to design and build plans, which were later presented at the major oil and gas exhibition.

Andrew Vaughan, chairman of Shell Abu Dhabi, said, “Supporting UAE youth in developing their scientific projects is in line with Shell’s social investment themes in Abu Dhabi.”

As an non-profit organisation created by the Abu Dhabi government in order to improve the welfare of youth across the UAE, the Emirates Foundation has been working with Shell on various projects since 2005.

Together, Shell and the Emirates Foundation have already worked on road safety campaigns, various entrepreneurship programmes and have also supported the Takatof volunteering initiative.

Clare Woodcraft, Emirates Foundation CEO, stated, “Shell is one of our most active partners and has supported us in any ways over the years.”
